New field evidence, NATO experimentation, research awards, and the next tests for Kinnami AmiShare®.

From Experimentation to Operational Readiness

This has been an important period in Kinnami’s journey from promising technology to field-tested capability. Through NATO DIANA, U.S. defense research programs, university partnerships, and increasingly realistic demonstrations, Kinnami AmiShare® is being tested in the multi-domain environments where resilient data matters most. Each test yields new evidence and technical insight helping us improve how mission data is protected, distributed, synchronized, and recovered when communications are disrupted. How Did We Get Here? We Tested Everywhere.

Small technology companies rarely gain access to the breadth of environments needed to test resilience thoroughly. Kinnami’s journey began with U.S. Air Force, university, and critical-infrastructure research, then expanded through NATO DIANA into land, maritime, airborne, cyber, advanced-network, and space-related environments. The result is demonstrations provide field observations which become product improvements, new partnerships are formed, and there is strong evidence that AmiShare can help sustain access to critical data when communications cannot be guaranteed in multi-domain environments. NATO DIANA Highlights Kinnami’s Field and Integration Experiments

NATO DIANA recently featured Kinnami’s participation in Innovation Continuum 2025. Kinnami completed planned and ad hoc integrations, collected data from a rigid-hulled inflatable boat in Portugal and a robotic platform in Istanbul, and demonstrated an integration with fellow DIANA innovator Goldilock. Just as important, the experiments challenged assumptions that are difficult to test outside real-world settings and led directly to changes designed to simplify AmiShare deployment in the field. Advancing Data Resilience at Finland’s 6G Test Centre

At the University of Oulu’s NATO DIANA-affiliated 6G Test Centre, Kinnami evaluated how AmiShare protects, distributes, synchronizes, and recovers data as communications conditions change. The testing provided valuable technical evidence and reinforced a core principle: advanced networks are essential, but mission continuity also requires a resilient data layer that can sustain access through disruption and reconcile data when connections return. Two New STTR Awards Extend Resilient Data Research

Kinnami has received two new Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer awards with university research partners. With Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Kinnami will investigate an orbital data layer for distributed space operations. A second project with West Virginia University builds on earlier collaborative-autonomy research and extends Kinnami’s work on resilient data in demanding operational environments. Together, the awards broaden the mission applications being developed around AmiShare and carry lessons from field testing into new research.  View the AFWERX challenge selections

Sharing Kinnami’s NATO Journey at Fed Supernova

Kinnami CMO Patricia Friar joined the “NATO Open Tab” panel at Fed Supernova to discuss what it takes for small companies to work effectively with the Alliance. Drawing on Kinnami’s path from the 2022 NATO Innovation in Resilience Challenge award through DIANA Phases 1 and 2, she emphasized that progress depends on sustained engagement, multinational relationships, operationally relevant testing, and clearer pathways from successful experimentation to procurement. NATO DIANA has been especially valuable in helping innovators build relationships, test with real users, and turn field lessons into more deployable capabilities. What’s Next

Preparing for NATO Experimentation in Latvia

Kinnami’s NATO testing journey continues in September and October with activities in Latvia. These exercises will provide additional opportunities to evaluate AmiShare in operationally relevant, multinational settings and explore how resilient data sharing can support mission continuity across systems, organizations, and communications conditions. DiBaX 2026 prioritizes secure, interoperable, open, resilient, and low-latency next-generation networks that strengthen NATO’s Digital Backbone for multi-domain operations. Nebraska Bridge Project Approaches Final Validation

Kinnami is concluding testing with the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. The project examines how bridge inspection and sensor data can remain protected, available, and synchronized across changing communications paths—and how AI analytics can continue across cloud, primary edge, and backup edge computing environments. Final validation is testing sustained analysis, failover, and data reconciliation as connectivity changes.

The Journey Continues

From NATO field exercises and advanced test centres to U.S. research programs and critical-infrastructure validation, each opportunity helps Kinnami strengthen AmiShare for real-world deployment. The environments differ, but the requirement remains consistent: mission data must get where it is needed, when it is needed, even when communications cannot be guaranteed.
